Filming is quiet. I still have two weeks before my next scenes.

Rutger, I know you've probably been asked a million times, but I've never seen your answer - are you writing your memoirs? I would love to read them!

I am about to start...I need a few more lives to write memoirs about just one of them lives.

Yes, sisi sicuro! I tend to not think much when I write but I better when writing memoirs damnit. You may realise that a lot of the writing that is done is such shared venture, something will come out of this which will be very interesting.

There's always the little dictaphone tape thingy..? Just talk and let somebody else do the typing?

Record yeah but not the same and what I'd like to do is write it first and then record just going with the audio more, more together with the times.

Did you get a chance to drive the HD down Great Ocean Road yet Rutger?

Ocean Road was too cold and far as of yet on list #1.

Will you be doing any more poetry bytes on the site with you reading on video?

Yesyesy coming on audio and want the same from others - turning site into more direct and audio/visual lot of work - working on vid mpegs now, just a few, 60secs.

Rutger, I've heard that you wrote a poem named Blue, or at least that's part of the title. Any chance we could get to read it on the Message Board?

I wrote that for someone, you get enough already. I wrote a mmmbrilliant rat poem in the Poem Tag which is about to end, see if you agree, it is a rat goodbye serenade. Trumpets included.

Never met, maybe from that business called "rentarat" not sure.. zzzzzzzzzzzzz zzzzzzzzsnoringrat.

When you're filming like you are now, do you visit with your costars much, or mostly small talk? Hope I'm not being too nosy.

Rutger
Hardly any talk. Had some nice moments with James Cromwell, we clicked in a major way. He has wit and also has flown back, he's done. There is no downtime for most.

What about Donald?

Ha he came and I had a lot on my plate. I went to set the next day. He was already on a different plane. My god. So I missed him by a few hrs.

That's a shame!

Yea o well I know the drill but this one took me by surprise, I felt terrible for him though.

Why did you feel badly for him?

Rutger
Fly in from Canada one day, fly back a day later to LA, hello. That's at least thirty hrs on a plane.

What's in the pipeline after Salem's Lot?

I have no idea...some talk going on but bizz seems deflated.

May I re-ask a question that went by? I'm probably sending too many. About creating a place for posting photos someplace here?

We have not figured this. The idea is a floating one. All matter of mind/work/hands/time.

Any more conventions planned?

Rutger
The one in Italy is rather serious and there is one pending in split. It is hard to commit to those because costs of getting there may just overgrow the benefits. Sweden is interested, possibly 2004.

Do you enjoy meeting your fans at these things?

Rutger
Yes it is lovely very much enjoyed. I tell you something odd about that. The fan meeting etc., it is a strange thing because I am so real and many of them are not. Not really, just preoccupied or intimidated by what they saw. See the oddity I hope. Not bad.

It's really weird meeting you in the flesh having only seen you on screen. Did you know that?

Just a reverse of what to expect . It must just depends how soon one can just pass this window. I guess one has about 99 sec. That's a lot to do within that time.

Are we like anything you imagined or worse??

I don't imagine you. That's a bit too much to ask lol. No offense.

Too impossible.

It is easy to imagine someone you have seen - if you know what I mean.

Rutger
There are hundreds of millions around who have seen my work but they don't know we are here. And other ways to connect with me within characters as well. The most amazing thing is that some people just read me better than I can even through character and all.

You must wonder sometimes what's on the other side of the screen.

Rutger
The other side of the screen is millions of households in different timezones and some over a thirty year timespan.

It's beyond my grip.

You are not that easy to read.

Rutger
Well, it s the other side of understanding...I am to some, and many read past me. Don't even bother. They don't t need me and vice versa. It is such pure communication and so weird.

That seeing through the character thing is the reason I've never been scared by Ryder or Batty. That twinkle in the eye.

Good bad big small ugly lazy muffin. There is so much depending on who is trying to read. Projectioprojection is the ultimate and it is way beyond me at that point.

We all read different things into each performance.

Your performance is what makes it work even more than mine.

It depends on the country. English is becoming very close to my second language.

You seem to take such joy in what you do, it comes across in your films.

Rutger
Joy is the key to this profession. play is not just reserved for children. And it is not a children's game anyway. It's material wavelength of the viewer, and energy.

Who wants to grow up anyway?

Rutger
One gets tacky not growing up after a while. And there are manymanymany. 5 more minutes the trumpetplayer is waiting.

Last night I watched a DeNiro movie. Waste of time. He always plays the same character, just gets older. I love that each of your characters is so different.

Rutger
We (actors), and that goes for all of us, can be horribly bad. It is great comfort to realize we are that helpless in a director's hands sometimes. Actors don't make movies. Directors do.

I am taking some and working hard on a report on the shooting developement. I don't want to give you too much at any time. It is sooo busy inthere, we have a hard time keeping up.

Yea, they are wonderful.
