Rutger just entered the room. Welcome Rutger!

Rutger
Hello all! Scuze me for being slow.

Question
Rutger, how is you directing project Changing Fortunes moving forward?

Rutger
It is still very slow. Waiting for the word from producer and funding.

Question
Hello Rutger! Nice to talk with you, thank you! One of the question I have is: you must have written quite a few poems, do you intend to publish them? Or have you already done it?

Rutger
Have not published and maybe will do but I need timetime.

Question
What gifts do you love?

Rutger
Ying & yang are fine for travel and all. Lightweight stuff is great.

Question
Hi - I loved reading your book - will you be writing another one?

Rutger
No, one autobiography is enough. It took me three years lol.

Question
Hi Rutger! I hope you are doing fine. Where in the world are you at this moment ?

Rutger
Bucharest.

Question
Has the stunt with the horses gone ahead yet?

Rutger
The horses are in great health and so are the stunt people. It went fantastic. So releaved. Thanks for all prayers.

Question
Hi Rutger, great to be chatting. Will there be another Starfish Tango?

Rutger
More shorts in the pipeline for sure. But Tango just once. Woud like to see other filmmakers take up the challenge.

Question
How is the Barbarossa beard doing?

Rutger
It s in parking lot for the stuntman so they can do more stuff. Had a white Andaluz stallion with a great set of brain and training. Lovely to ride again after forty years.

Question
In all your travels which country do you think has the best food?

Rutger
..mmm. Malta? No, kiddingkidding. Italy, Australia..

Question
You have such a high movie output how many days in the year do you have to work?

Rutger
Who's counting. Work keeps me sane. Must do if I can and want.

Question
Are u following the EURO 2008? Are u going to support Italy or whatelse now?

Rutger
I am sluggish on soccer but it's unavoidable. And the Dutch are now less orange.

Question
Hello Mr Rutger, very nice talking to u. I'm writing from Sicily and just few weeks ago the Taorimina film Festival took place. I'm wondering if u have been there or never been there for the event. However have u never been in Sicily b4?

Rutger
I was in Sicily once on my way to Malta with Goldwing.

Question
Has the weather improved where you are?

Rutger
The weather is waiting to get even hotter this week.

Question
What's next on the agenda after Barbarossa?

Rutger
Nothing. Will see.

Question
If a fine director wanted to make a biopic of your life story, who would you like to play you?

Rutger
Burt Reynolds? What a question lol! My dog would be good.

Are you still friends with Paul Verhoeven and is there a possibility of working together again?

Rutger
Possibillity is always there. We want to. But - guess what? - same problem.

Question
Wondering what professional decisions have been the most difficult to make over the span of your career?

Rutger
Most difficult decision is which to choose out of two great films that go in the same period. I chose NOT to do DAS BOAT which made BLADE RUNNER available to me. Had I taken it I would have not been able to do that film.

Question
How does it feel to have made Dutch films again in recent years?, missed it? nostalgic? :-)

Rutger
Dutch as one layer less between audience & me. It is very nice, but hardly happens. Did work with CYRUS FRISCH in Dutch. Delicious.

Question
Do you plan to come to UK in the near future?

Rutger
No, but can change. Possibly do film in Nov....but very far off still. That would be a whacky comedy.

Question
I recently saw a picture of you and Mickey Rourke, are you friends?

Rutger
We always felt close but pic is from SINCITY premiere. I loved him to death in that.

Question
Hi Rutger, greetings from Finland. Have you ever been here? This is a weird question but have you ever met Michael Biehn? The guy from Terminator? I love your acting and hope one day you work together.

Rutger
No have met very few collegues. I don't do parties and I figure they may not do either. Lots of different jetstreams.

Question
Will you be bringing the costume home for the auction? Or, dare I say, the beard, maybe?

Rutger
I have made a reservation for beard.

Question
If your home were to burn or flood, which few items would you absolutely have to rescue?

Rutger
You can answer that. Pretty much the same as all people. No dipers I guess.

Question
Hi, loving animals so much, have you ever considered becoming a vegetarian?

Rutger
I am becoming one. For now 6 times a week. Think organically predestined because of the paint and hormones.

Question
How about the project with directors all around the world? Did you make
a deal with the Rumanian ones? When you where here for the film festival you said that you are "shoopping" for talented people.

Rutger

Question
Have you ever taken any critics words to heart?

Rutger
Some critics are sharp, yes. But that is not so painful just good for sanity.

Question
Hello Rutger Some of your movies are hard to find in France, and not
only there. I have been looking for the DVD of «Femme entre chien et loup» (Een Vrouw Tussen Hond en Wolf ) with a French actress, Marie-Christine Barrault for a while. Impossible to find it. Same for another one: «Chanel solitaire». And I could generalize to the movies you made in the 70’. Where could they be found ?

Rutger
What's there is on the net. May have to spend lots of time surfing.

Question
When was the last time you were in Germany and did you like it ?

Rutger
Du hasst mich gefragt aber nein. Rammstein but concert was in Milan. VEry very nice.

Must built another. Maybe in different place.

Rutger
Want to write them first. Really. Love reading them.

Rutger
I prefer smaller budget films. More freedom. And less chances of release.

Question
Do you like reading and if so do you have enough time to read for
enjoyment.

Rutger
Never enough time. Hate it.

Question
Your mysterious character in Salem's Lot is one of my favourites. How
was it working on a Stephen King movie? Do you like doing horror?

Rutger
I don't hink much of the genre. Leave that to director. I try be believable as a person. I would think that a horror sauce of performance would take away from it.

Question
Do you think that films can change the world? I mean do you believe in
the power of a character to change the way we think about something?

Rutger
I think some things can change the world but it depends on timing films are just one of these things. It's more the frame of mind. For film I say teasingly and hopeful. Gore's documentary and Michel Moore and some others certainly help. Provoke some thought.

Question
Do you think there is life on other planets?

Rutger
I will kill you. Define life. You fast footed one... There is so much life in Eyersrock. Or diamonds. But if you mean like human? I have severe doubts.

Rutger
Yes. Swordplay/blindman walking me along the city streets blindfolded.

Question
One magazine wrote that you carried with you spiritism. Is it true?

Rutger
That one flew over my head. Try again...

Question
Were Jungle Juice + In the Shadow of the Cobra finished, do you know
if they will be released.

Rutger
Both were in different disasters. Unreleasable or uneditable. This is what I heard, but nothing for sure. For sure was they were not so good. Loved dancing with Christopher Walken.

Rutger
Does President work with Queen?

Question
Do you have plans to retire from acting and only direct as Clint Eastwood does?

Rutger
Have plans but must see if I can fulfill. Retirement is not a big cup of tea. I love what I do.

Question

Rutger
Extremely. Light and funny.

Rutger
Brazil. That's it.

Not much of a producer. Was more a dollar thing so they might pay me later.

Rutger
I tend to run over it. As long as Hummer will do, but see the end of tunnel.
