T.V. Documentary

Director:
...

Language:
English

Running Time: 15'

Plot:
This series of 30-minute-long documentaries is about special animals and their trainers.

In this episode they talk about Pee-Wee, the horse Rutger rode in “Merlin”.

There is some footage showing a “Merlin” production meeting with the scenes in which Rutger's horse is involved in the battle sequence, together with Rutger's double.

The horse has to fall on the ground with the horserider on him and the horse's trainer explains how this action scene is shot, taking into the utmost consideration the horse and rider's safety.

They used a double for Rutger because - even though he is a very clever horseman - the production did not want to run the risk of him being injured during those dangerous scenes.
