“Who Killed Sir Harry Oakes?”
Plot:
Jack McCann, after years spent searching for gold, in 1925 suddenly stumbles into a mountain full of it, becoming in this way one of the wealthiest man of his times. During the start of WW II he lives on his own Caribbean island with his daughter, who married a social climber, Claude Maillot van Horn, and his alcoholic wife Helen. Some Mafia people want to get hold of his island to build up a casino.
He suddenly discovers that although being so rich, in reality now he owns nothing, and that he was happier when he was just a gold digger. He is murdered under obscure circumstances and his son-in-law gets accused for his death. The war ends and once declared innocent, Claude is obliged to leave the island and his wife, starting now to search his own identity.
