If It Had Not Been For You
© by Judy Caldwell
Without you an empty life it would be
A heart locked away in a tomb
No laughter or joy to ever see
If it had not been for you
The sun's bright rays to me now reach
As if singling me out from the crowd
Life's excitement reaching for its peak
Pushing away all foreboding clouds
Could never have felt a friendship so true
Life would have been misery, endlessly blue
If it had not been for you
