Souls
© by Victor Palmer
Thousands of souls, filling the air
Leaving behind all their worries and cares
Gazing beyond, with limitless eyes
As they travel, into the skies
Floating over the cities and towns
The world below them, they are staring down
Touching briefly, sensations for a moment
Seeking redemption and atonement
Above all limits of their pain
Freedom is their reign
Human grief on endless nights
Beneath these glowing city lights
Rivers of blood and tears
Reflections of sadness and fears
Spirits emerging into the light
As sorrow plagues are night
Say it is true, say that we can become new
Say that there is a celestial view
Spiritual creatures have shown
So many things are unknown
