There could be mannish analogs
Deep within distant Andromeda
Poets, priests, strange beasts
Like the rhinoceros and ape...
And stargazers, like you!
There could be enduring souls
Hidden among the stars
The same emotions, too
So familiar to you
And across those light-years
Our Milky Way may be viewed
As a small pulse of hope
To others far removed
Deep within distant Andromeda.
