The Monster
© by Matthias Bonnici
I was a man,
now I am men.
My one mind occupies this body of many,
I am a jigsaw of flesh,
held together with stitches instead of skin.
I was created by a man dawning the mask of a god,
who believed he create life from death,
in this he created me;
a man made of men, built by a man,
the blasphemous progeny of a false deity.
Destined to be an experiment and nothing more,
I was created in haste,
encased in this crowd fused,
a collection of flesh mimicking the form of a man.
