The Mirror
by Chiara Ortolani

She was standing in front of the mirror
waiting for his eyes
looking at the entrance behind
he was talking on his own, his hands picked up
his feet with no shoes, his hat
where somewhere
she was lying  to the mirror, she was lying to herself
she was there not for her
she doesn’t want it to reflect him
coming back dead
