Alone
by M. Reese

I sit alone in my own private hell

You all are watched in wonder

Do you see me behind the door?

I peek out to see the blue air and listen to you speak

You say the things you think

Do you not listen to what you see?

I hold in the tears with my heart held up high

You turn your back and I cry

Do you see me close the door?

I take a deep breath

You smile and laugh

Do you know my hell?

I sit alone
