Ancient Greek Plants

blossoms shine in the sun caressed by the wind,
sometimes blown away when the seasons are grim,
while roots are binding the flower to her clay
holding water and minerals from former decay.
potential and source and receiver of life
with fungus and spores, awaiting to thrive:
if light is denied then all beauty is vain
and will be dissolved, relieving the pain
when Eros is tired and weak
Thanatos wakes up and feeds.
