The White Road
© by K. M. Shurkin

The white road
Paved in reveries
And childhood fantasies
Fades to wisps
Like cotton candy
Under his feet

Luring him on
Then crumbling
Leaving him stranded
In a field of
Hopeless dreams and
Listless visions

Wondering whether
He should go on
In a world where
He is lost
And all his hopes
Have faded away

Leaving only dust
Beneath his calloused feet.
