Wind Talking
© by Sue Kugler

The wind was strong
As I walked
It pulled me along
And sort of talked

Seeming to say
Things such as
"Come on. Let's go
No time for that jazz"
Then starting to moan
Howling as eerily as
The tic-toc
Of a pendulum clock

It didn't rave and rant
It had a real low tone
Like an Indian chant
Chilling me to the bone

Sending a message into the air
Rolling over everything in its way
Letting you know it was there
Seeming to say
"Pray you'll live another day"
