RUTGER & EVERT'S 'BABIES' SONG
In order to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 'Babies' song and to support my Association, Evert Nieuwstede and his music production company (It's Your Record!) released 'Babies' on a CD. 'Babies' is the song for which I wrote the lyrics together with Evert, and that I sung in 1977. It's a very rare record, and it's something I'm proud of as it is/was my first attempt to be part of a band. I love writing lyrics. And I love singing. It comes from the heart.
Of course I remember how much fun it was to be in the recording studio, surrounded by many professional music composers and authors, and what a precious learning experience it was, too! Evert just learned about my non-profit organization and decided to help supporting our goals by releasing this song and have the profits coming from its sales go to Starfish. For him to make this decision about this initiative and to launch the project was just a matter of few moments - he contacted me and there!, in a few days the CD was released
Now you can find copies in the 'Autographed Items' section (check the menu on the left):
In the meantime, I would like to thank from the bottom of my heart all the people who contributed to the realization of this song back in 1977 and the ones who are now helping The Rutger Hauer Starfish Association.
The people who took part in the recording of this song are:
Evert Nieuwstede (Producer, Composer, Guitar & Vocals)
Han Blaauw (Backing Vocals)
John Lagrand (Bluesharp)
Paul Vink (Keyboards)
Mac Sell (Solo Guitar)
